Young Poz L.A.
Mission Statement: To promote the social life of POZ youth in several ways, including but not limited to private social gatherings. Based in Los Angeles, California, this group is for those in their teens to 35 years of age that have been afflicted with HIV and need non-judgmental emotional support from others in the same situation. Online counseling is available whenever possible through either one-on-one chats, or group chats through members and volunteers as well as through e-mail and a support network of friends. This site is open to all HIV+ youth worldwide and can be of assistance in gay coming-out issues as well.This site also can be a resource for those in Los Angeles or wishing to relocate here and need information of what type of assistance they can get to live a more productive and less stressful life. There has been an upswing in HIV+ cases among youth in the United States, hence the need for this site.

Membership in YPLA is free.

Judgmental and rude attitude is seen as anti-social and against the purpose of Young Poz Los Angeles. YPLA is meant as a safe environment where poz youths can socialize and any information disclosed by members or gathered by YPLA moderators will be kept confidential. Once you are a member, you can also upload pictures in the photo section so others will see who you are (optional). Be sure to put your member name or email address on there so others can know who you are.
*This group has officially started as of November 18, 2005 and we hope that you join since without the membership there can be no YPLA. Please join and invite all your POZ young friends to do so as well. If anybody has strong feelings about HIV and helping others, ask me about being a YPLA moderator.
